Who We Are

TANT was founded in 2002 when local groups of National Trust tenants came together to raise standards and keep rents affordable in their communities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In 2004, we became a formally incorporated association. We are run entirely by volunteers and are dedicated to supporting tenants and communities connected to National Trust properties. We believe that the people who live in these homes, and the communities around them, are central to protecting the buildings and land they occupy.

What We Do

For more than 20 years, TANT has worked to promote best practice by the National Trust and to encourage strong, respectful relationships with everyone affected by its property and land interests. Through advocacy, support and campaigning, we have helped bring about important changes and improvements. Each year, we assist many tenants and leaseholders in resolving problems and disputes with the National Trust, always free of charge. We are committed to continuing this work and standing up for our members.
