About Us

TANT is an independent, volunteer‑run organisation supporting everyone who lives under a National Trust roof. For more than 25 years, our volunteers have helped and supported tenants and leaseholders get clear information, resolve issues, and feel supported in their relationship with the National Trust.
The National Trust recognises TANT as the organisation that represents the residential aspects of National Trust tenancies.
We work constructively with the National Trust while ensuring tenants’ voices are heard, respected and represented.
We bring extensive experience in tenancy matters, community engagement and problem‑solving. We act independently to promote constructive relationships. We support positive relationships with the National Trust and tenants.
We handle every enquiry impartially and in confidence.
We do not provide legal or financial advice and recommend you take legal or financial advice from professionals and experts.
Our mission is to support, inform and advocate for National Trust tenants and leaseholders.
We do this by:
- Helping residents resolve tenancy issues with their National Trust landlords
- Providing clear, reliable information about residents’ rights, responsibilities and tenancy processes
- Advocacy on residential policy matters within the National Trust and in the wider housing landscape sector
- Promoting fair, constructive and respectful communication
