National Trust Holiday Homes

TANT is concerned that the National Trust appear to be taking increasing numbers of homes and converting them into holiday accommodation.

It seems that when a tenanted home becomes empty, rather that re-letting as a home, there is an increasing trend to change it to a holiday unit.

The increasing number of holiday homes damage the community and can cause disruption and problems to local residents.

Please let us know if this is happening near you and provide details if possible.

TANT is not specifically opposed to holiday accommodation but recommends that the National Trust concentrates on converting derelict barns for the purpose. We suggest that these properties should include accommodation for the less-able, elderly and those who struggle to afford the holiday cottage prices that the National Trust generally charge.
