Many leaseholders will already be aware that for personal reasons Mike Dennys has stepped back from day to day involvement in long leasehold matters. We all have many reasons to thank Mike for his tremendous work in initiating and leading the effort to remove the Sword of Damocles that was Modern Ground Rent hanging over our heads. His leadership, personal commitment and energy, (and cajoling!), were fundamental to the removal of that threat. Having achieved that he went on to lead the negotiations which resulted in the Trust agreeing to implement the Law Commission recommendations for 990-year lease extensions and modified premium calculations should they be passed into law. He was also a source of support and advice to many long leaseholders at a time when both were in short supply.
The good news is that his experience and advice will still be available to us.
