Out of hours emergencies
If you have an out of hours emergency, for example heating breakdown, roof damage, or another problem that requires an immediate solution (but not a downed TV arial!), there is a procedure that you need to follow.

- If you are unable to get in contact with the National Trust after having made all reasonable attempts to do so and the issue is an emergency that cannot wait until working hours then, in line with the National Trust Housing Policy you can ring a local qualified / certified tradesperson to undertake any work required to make your property safe until the National Trust can effect a permanent repair. Please Note: the cost of this can be recharged to the National Trust but will only be refunded if it is a genuine emergency repair such as a flood, gas leak or serious electrical fault that has to be dealt with immediately for reasons of health and / or safety.
Ring the emergency out of hours contact number which can be found on page 32 of the Tenants Handbook or alternatively call your local estate manager whose contact number can be found on the same page.
